The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills, as well as a high level of customer service.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESManage general ledger and month-end/year-end close processes which includes, but is not limited to, preparing all journal entries, reconciling all balance sheet accounts and financial statement preparation and analysisMaintain records retention, protection and disposal of recordsMaintain company accounting procedures and processes and ensure complianceDevelop procedures to improve efficiencyMonitor cash flow for operationsAssist with auditsKeep managers informedACCOUNTABILITIESTimely financial reportingAccuracy in journal entries and reportingORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENTThis position will report to the Corporate Controller and will work closely with the corporate finance team based in Austin TX.Bachelor's degree in accountingMinimum 5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.Deep understanding of financial close process including the preparation journal entries, reconciliation schedules and financial statement packageExperience in financial operations including A/R, A/P, treasury, payroll and state and local tax complianceGreat written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced excel skills and ability to quickly learn and adopt new software toolsExperience with Quickbooks, SAGE Intacct or other similar ERP systemBackground in a skilled trades environment: construction, electrical, HVAC, or plumbingCPA or desire to pursue CPA designation, a plus, but not necessaryBEHAVIORAL PROFILELanguage SkillsAbility to read, understand, and apply written instructions, emails, and business correspondence. Strong written communication skills are essential for drafting professional emails, reports, and internal documents. The role requires the ability to clearly present information in one-on-one and small group settings with employees, customers, and vendors.Mathematical SkillsProficiency in basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Comfortable working with percentages, ratios, and basic financial calculations. Familiarity with spreadsheets and data entry is necessary for tracking expenses, reports, and various administrative tasks.Reasoning AbilityStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to follow written, verbal, or visual instructions accurately. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities. Attention to detail and sound judgment are critical, particularly when handling confidential information.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands for typing and other office-related tasks, and communicate clearly. The employee may occasionally need to stand, walk, or lift office materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
