We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for a contract position. This assignment is anticipated to last approximately 4 to 6 weeks (could be less or more) and will provide essential coverage for the finance team during a transitional period. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, accuracy in financial reporting, and confidence working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records and support monthly accounting activity.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure balances are complete and correct.
• Review financial results, identify variances, and assist with explaining unexpected changes in account activity.
• Generate recurring and ad hoc financial reports to provide visibility into accounting data and support management needs.
• Complete required documentation and compliance-related forms with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.
• Use Financial Edge to manage accounting transactions, maintain records, and support routine financial processes.
• Provide accounting support to the broader finance function by helping cover key workload needs during a contract staffing gap.
• Experience performing journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations in an accounting environment that requires strong attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of compliance-related documentation and the ability to complete required financial forms accurately.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to review variances and resolve accounting discrepancies efficiently.
• Proficiency in running financial reports and interpreting accounting data for operational use.
• Hands-on experience with Financial Edge or a comparable accounting system.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage priorities within a short-term assignment.
