Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant position is responsible for supporting the accounting operations of the organization by creating journal entries, maintaining accounting records, and following a set of controls designed to mitigate risk and ensure reported results comply with GAAP. The Staff Accountant will adhere to deadlines and complete tasks with a high degree of detail and accuracy.

Essential Job Functions:

• Reconciliation of monthly bank statements
• Maintain fixed assets and book journal entries
• Maintain prepaid expenses and book journal entries
• Complete assigned balance sheet account reconciliations
• Maintain and reconcile other supporting schedules and ledgers as assigned
• Assist with month end reporting
• Assist with the preparation of 990 tax return, Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, and financial statement audits
• Other accounting functions as assigned

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or another related field
• Previous experience as a Staff Accountant, Accounting Clerk, Accounting Assistant, or another related role
• Demonstrated advanced competence with Microsoft Excel and an enterprise level general ledger application
• Attention to detail with the ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects
• Previous experience as Staff Accountant in Senior Living preferred.
