Prep Cook

Prep Cook Job Location: Rocky Hill, Connecticut

Evening Shift (2pm to 6pm) - 20 hours a week

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare food products for residents, staff, and catered events that meet standards for quantity, quality, and presentation.

• Adhere to all guidelines and procedures for safe food handling, HACCP, and general sanitation.

• Ensure all work areas and equipment are clean and sanitized on routine basis, and all stored food products are labeled, dated, and properly maintained/rotated.

• May assist in inventory, ordering, and receiving of food products as needed.

• Demonstrate customer service excellence and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment; treat others with respect, handle issues with professionalism, and prioritize resident needs to maintain standards and expectations of food service department.

• Adhere to posted schedule, and follow Masonicare policies regarding callouts and schedule modifications, recording work hours, dress code, etc.; represent Masonicare to community and escalate issues presented.

• Make recommendations on improvements to menu and introducing new products, with careful consideration of resident feedback.

• Attend all mandatory department meetings and in-services, as well as company-wide or affiliate-wide trainings and initiatives.

• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Experience: 1-3 years of experience in food services.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Sanitation certification preferred.

Key Competencies: Knowledge of food sanitation requirements and regulations. Knowledge of culinary terms and procedures.

Provides care and services that demonstrate behaviors and the principles of person-centered care including affording people dignity, respect and compassion, offering coordinated care, support and treatment and care that is personalized.
