Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem

Job TitleRegistered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)Job DescriptionSt. Catherine of Siena Hospital is seeking a skilled and dependable Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team on a per diem basis. In this role, you will provide high-quality respiratory care to patients across a variety of clinical settings, supporting both acute and chronic respiratory needs. This position offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work with a collaborative healthcare team.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include:Evaluating the appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapies; consulting with physicians to clarify or modify orders as neededProviding patients and families with clear verbal and written education regarding respiratory care and treatment plansAccurately documenting critical values and patient information in accordance with established policies and proceduresCollaborating with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to support patient care decisions, including timely intervention in emergency situationsDelivering comprehensive airway management, including intubation, tracheostomy care, airway clearance, and treatment of bronchospasm and airway inflammationPerforming extubations when appropriate and providing post-extubation airway careProviding respiratory care across all patient populations (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric) in critical care, non-critical care, and emergency settingsInitiating, managing, and monitoring invasive and non-invasive ventilation for critically ill patientsPerforming arterial blood gas (ABG) collection, analysis, and interpretationAssembling, maintaining, and troubleshooting respiratory therapy equipmentRequirementsRequirements include:Graduate of an AMA, JRCTE, or CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program (minimum Associate's degree required)Current New York State Respiratory Therapist licenseCurrent RRT licenseProficiency in respiratory therapy modalities, including mechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, patient assessment, and ABG collection/analysisCurrent BLS- American Heart AssociationMinimum of one (1) year of critical care experience preferredPosted Salary RangeUSD $58.30 - USD $63.60 /Hr.The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.At Catholic Health, we believe in a people-first approach.
