Warehouse Materials Handler

The Warehouse Materials Handler is responsible for receiving, storing, moving, and distributing materials within the warehouse to support efficient operations. This role ensures that all materials are handled safely, accurately, and in accordance with established procedures and safety standards, contributing directly to smooth production and timely shipments.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders or shipping documents to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Load, unload, and move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other warehouse equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Store materials in designated locations, maintaining proper labeling, organization, and accessibility.
• Pick, stage, and prepare materials for production, internal use, or outbound shipment according to work orders and shipping schedules.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems and related tools.
• Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory activities to support inventory accuracy and control.
• Package and label materials for shipment in accordance with company guidelines and carrier requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following housekeeping standards.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements while performing daily tasks.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to support efficient warehouse and production operations.

Essential Skills

• Demonstrated experience in material handling within a warehouse or production environment.
• Ability to perform picking, packing, loading, and unloading tasks safely and efficiently.
• Experience using warehouse tools and equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Proficiency with RF scanners or similar devices for inventory tracking and order processing.
• Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and follow warehouse management procedures.
• Strong attention to detail when inspecting, labeling, and organizing materials.
• Capability to perform general labor tasks, including frequent lifting, bending, standing, and walking.
• Understanding of and adherence to safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a production or manufacturing environment supporting material flow.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and basic inventory control practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Reliable work habits and commitment to punctuality and consistent attendance.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and other departments.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse setting that involves frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. You will regularly operate warehouse equipment and tools, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, while working around varying temperatures, noise levels, and typical warehouse conditions. Personal protective equipment and adherence to safety procedures are an integral part of the daily work environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nampa, ID.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
