Psych Registered Nurse North Unit

Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Psych Registered Nurse for the North Unit to provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based psychiatric and behavioral health nursing care to adult patients with acute and chronic mental health needs. As a key member of our Healthcare & Medical Services team, the Psych RN will perform comprehensive nursing assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, monitor therapeutic responses, and collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient outcomes. The nurse will provide therapeutic communication, milieu management, de-escalation, and crisis intervention, while maintaining a secure and supportive environment that promotes dignity, recovery, and patient-centered care. Responsibilities include coordinating and documenting patient care, participating in treatment team meetings and discharge planning, educating patients and families about diagnosis, medications, and coping strategies, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory, safety, and infection-prevention standards. The Psych RN will also precept and mentor staff as appropriate, engage in quality-improvement initiatives, and contribute to a culture of teamwork, respect, and professional growth.
