Clinical Database Programmer

Waters seeks a Clinical Database Programmer to design, develop, and maintain clinical databases and manage data for clinical studies. The role ensures trial data collection, processing, and validation meet regulatory standards and quality requirements while supporting study execution through database lock.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end clinical database programming for assigned studies including design, build, testing, and maintenance
- Develop edit checks, derivations, form logic, and database functionality to support data quality and study objectives
- Create and validate data transfer specifications and external data integrations
- Develop reports, listings, and dashboards using SQL, SAS, or other reporting technologies
- Partner with study teams to define data requirements and ensure alignment with protocol and regulatory expectations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Life Sciences, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- Minimum 3 years clinical database programming or data management in pharma, biotech, medical device, or CRO
- Experience supporting clinical studies from database build through lock and archival
- Proficiency with Veeva CDMS, Veeva EDC, or equivalent electronic data capture platforms
- Strong understanding of clinical trial processes, data management principles, and clinical data lifecycle
- Knowledge of FDA, ISO, ICH-GCP, and regulatory requirements for clinical research
- Understanding of relational database design and data modeling
