Production Operator- Converting

Job Title

Operate and maintain assigned line to maintain safety, quality and productivity. Including such activities as prepping for roll production, doffing rolls, packaging rolls, line start-ups, operational maintenance and cleaning.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
• Actively participate in risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility.
• Actively participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis and support implemented corrective actions.
• Participate in safety observation programs as required.
• Create and maintain a team effort attitude and team approach within the department and plant.
• Operate and Maintain Line to established standards
• Meet productivity standards
• Understand and fully utilize all ISO procedures.
• Complete required documentation such as: patrols, housekeeping sheets, doff quality coding, etc.
• Troubleshoot issues with quality or productivity related to the team or the machine
• Make adjustments to machinery as needed.
• Suggest improvements to processes or procedures
• Coordinate with lab personnel, Team Leader and Engineering for issues and improvements
• Perform 6S and other housekeeping duties required for clean and safe work environment
• Train others as needed
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• HS Diploma
• Experience in a manufacturing facility (preferably textiles or roll goods) strongly desired.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of standard office machines and computer software including MS Office Suite- Outlook, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
• General understanding of machinery and tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with building occupants, contractors, and management

The noise level in the work environment varies and hearing protection is required in some work areas. The employee is frequently exposed to extremely high-speed machinery with open inward turning rolls, extremely hot surface areas and moving lift truck traffic.
