Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic healthcare team at Premier Health PA Services in Carmel, New York. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, plan, and implement comprehensive medical care for a variety of patients in collaboration with supervising physicians. You will operate within the full scope of your licensure, being accountable for the holistic assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of patient care, including direct clinical interactions, patient and family education, and care transitions. Your responsibilities will also include providing medical consultations, performing necessary therapeutic procedures delegated by your supervising physician, and actively participating in daily hospital rounds.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, onsite position in the hospital setting, allowing for direct and impactful patient care. You will engage with a multidisciplinary team that encourages a collaborative environment by utilizing open communication and shared best practices to deliver exceptional patient care. Our traditional working hours are Monday to Friday, starting at 5:00 PM for a total of 40 hours per week. This schedule enables a balanced work-life approach, which is crucial in the demanding field of healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and review patient medical histories to identify health issues.
• Order, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests, including laboratory tests and imaging studies, to diagnose conditions accurately.
• Diagnose and manage various health conditions emphasizing family medicine standards, implementing evidence-based care strategies.
• Develop, monitor, and adjust personalized treatment plans that address chronic and acute health issues.
• Prescribe medications, ensuring the best therapeutic outcomes while monitoring patient responses and modifying prescriptions as necessary.
• Maintain detailed, accurate patient records and schedules in the electronic health record system, ensuring seamless care coordination.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions, preventive measures, and treatment options to empower them in managing their health.
• Oversee comprehensive management of patients' health and well-being, promoting a culture of healthy lifestyle practices.
• Engage in continuous professional education and research to remain updated on advancements in primary care and best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physician Assistant in our facility, you will work primarily with a diverse patient population that ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics. You will engage with families, providing care that is not only clinical but also empathetic and understanding of the emotional aspects of health and wellness. This role emphasizes continuity of care and comprehensive management of families’ health needs, which contributes significantly to improved community health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
• Proven experience as a Physician Assistant in a family health clinic or an equivalent healthcare setting.
• Strong specialization or expertise in family medicine, demonstrating a deep understanding of patient care within this discipline.
• Extensive clinical experience in primary care, capable of addressing a wide range of health concerns.
• Strong knowledge of health and patient care regulations to ensure compliance and optimal care delivery.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient engagement and teamwork.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $130,000, commensurate with experience.
