Schedule: Monday-Friday schedule
8am-5pm or 9am-6pm (1 hr unpaid lunch) flexible on schedule here
OT pay for hours worked greater than 8 in a day or 40 in a week
**potential for overtime!**
Call: Deputy director will also be on call for 1 wk - it will be rotations with the director of pharmacy
EMR: Cerner
Additional Details:
- Experience as a pharmacist
- 200-300 prescriptions a day
Inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and ER pharmacy duties (all in the same building)
- Lead and coordinate quality assurance and quality improvement activities related to pharmacy services, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulations.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures that promote safe and effective medication use.
- Collaborate with clinical teams, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based interventions.
- Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting related to pharmacy quality metrics and patient safety indicators.
- Provide training, mentorship, and support to pharmacy staff to enhance their understanding and adherence to quality standards.
- Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes to align pharmacy quality initiatives with organizational objectives.
- Manage risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to medication errors and adverse drug events.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on quality assurance and improvement in pharmacy practice during audits and inspections.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.S. Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care to include inpatient medication reconciliation, medication therapy management and drug utilization review.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state pharmacy laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives within healthcare settings.
STATE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
- AK License (or willing to obtain)
ABOUT THE FACILITY
This facility includes 21 village clinics that are accredited by Joint Commission and are staffed by Community Health aides. Our Community Health Aide Program (CHAP) plays a very important role in village health services. Our health aides can provide Preventative, Acute, Chronic, and Emergency care within their scope of practice using the Community Health Aide Manual (CHAM) and reporting to a referral Physician at the Kanakanak hospital. They work closely with our case management and assist many other departments that include, but not limited to: Optometry, Audiology, Diabetes, Medical Staff, Dental, and Infant learning to ensure our patients are getting the appropriate and essential care that they need.
