Mega Touch Concepts provides 24-hour therapeutic residential services to adolescents with emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs. Our program emphasizes trauma-informed care, safety, individualized treatment planning, medication management, life-skills development, and family involvement.

Position Summary

The Associate Professional–Medication Technician (AP–Med Tech) provides therapeutic support, medication administration, documentation, crisis intervention, and daily supervision within a Level III residential setting.

The AP–Med Tech works under the supervision of the Qualified Professional and collaborates with clinical, nursing, administrative, and direct-care staff. The successful candidate must demonstrate dependability, initiative, professional judgment, effective communication, and consistent follow-through with assigned responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic supervision and support to adolescent residents.
• Implement interventions and strategies identified in each resident’s Person-Centered Plan.
• Assist residents with coping skills, emotional regulation, conflict resolution, daily routines, hygiene, chores, and life skills.
• Facilitate structured groups, recreational activities, and therapeutic programming.
• Support school participation, medical appointments, community outings, and transportation needs.
• Use trauma-informed, person-centered, and strength-based approaches.
• Assist with verbal de-escalation, crisis prevention, and behavioral interventions.
• Maintain professional boundaries and protect resident rights and confidentiality.
• Participate in staff meetings, supervision, treatment-team meetings, Child and Family Team meetings, and required training.
• Complete progress notes, shift summaries, incident reports, medication records, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
• Immediately report safety concerns, allegations, injuries, medication issues, behavioral incidents, and significant changes in a resident’s condition.
• Review shift communications and provide complete information during shift changes.
• Follow all agency policies, treatment requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.

Medication Technician Duties

• Administer medications only after completing required medication-administration training and competency verification.
• Review medication orders and the Medication Administration Record before administering medications.
• Follow medication-administration rights and agency procedures.
• Document medication administration accurately and immediately.
• Report medication refusals, missed doses, errors, adverse reactions, discrepancies, and concerns.
• Retrieve medication deliveries promptly and ensure medications are properly received, documented, counted, and secured.
• Maintain locked medication-storage areas and prevent unauthorized access.
• Complete medication counts and shift-to-shift reconciliation when required.
• Monitor medication quantities and notify the appropriate staff before refills are needed.
• Communicate medication concerns to the nurse, Qualified Professional, prescribing provider, pharmacy, and management.
• Participate in medication audits, training, and corrective-action activities.
• Never alter, discontinue, withhold, or administer medication outside the authorized order or scope of training.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human-services or related field and qualifications necessary to meet applicable Associate Professional requirements.
• Successful completion of approved medication-administration training before independently administering medications.
• Ability to demonstrate medication competency and complete required refresher training.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to safely transport residents when assigned.
• Successful completion of required background checks, healthcare-registry checks, drug screening, references, and other preemployment requirements.
• Current tuberculosis screening and required health documentation.
• CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification before independent duty.
• Crisis-prevention and verbal de-escalation certification or willingness to complete agency-approved training.
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful or emergency situations.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, overnight shifts, and emergencies when scheduled.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Level II or Level III residential program, group home, psychiatric residential program, day treatment, or community mental-health setting.
• Previous medication-administration experience.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care, adolescent development, crisis intervention, and behavioral health.
• Experience completing clinical documentation, progress notes, incident reports, and medication records.
• Familiarity with electronic Medication Administration Record systems.

Work Schedule and Compensation

• Eight-hour or twelve-hour shifts based on facility needs
• Evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday availability may be required
• On-call responsibilities may be assigned
