Job Description Ventura MedStaff is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse for an exciting travel nursing assignment in Lawton, OK. Responsibilities Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients. Serves as a primary or accountable nurse based on unit assignment. Educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management. Utilizes pharmacology knowledge and safely administers medications according to UHS Hospitals policy. Shares responsibility for resource utilization including staffing, time management, supplies, and services. Complies with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies. Participates in Nursing Shared Governance initiatives. Engages in professional development and mandatory education. Integrates nursing research and evidence-based practice into care. Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees. Performs duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned. Provides additional duties as assigned to support safe, effective patient care. Key Qualifications Education/Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Preferred: Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing. Preferred: Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting. Preferred: Previous experience in a walk in / primary care / specialty care setting. License & Certification Current NY State RN license. Current New York State Registered Nurse License. Current CPR certification required within 1 week of start of employment. CCRN (preferred). Relevant skills certification (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned. Professional certification in a related nursing specialty (preferred). Work Environment Work performed in an office environment and patient care areas requiring proximity to other employees and patients. Rooms are air conditioned and heated. Frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting. Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions. Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants. PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, Gloves) as required by UHS Hospitals Infection Control policies. Age of Patients Served All Age Groups. HIPAA Roles‑Based Access to Patient Information Clinical – Access to patient information that is not restricted (Level 3). All – Access to patient information, including restricted information (Level 4). Sign‑On Incentive Experienced candidates may be eligible for a sign‑on bonus of up to $15,000. Up to a $25,000 sign‑on bonus for candidates who meet eligibility criteria.
