From ground system operations and mission control to technical training and software engineering, Qwaltec brings space within reach — and we are growing.Qwaltec is seeking a Network Engineer to administer and secure the networks that keep satellite ground station operations running for a Department of War customer. This role requires a strong background in the administration of Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), and remote networks, including working knowledge of network hardware, software, protocols, and network security in a client/server environment.You will be the go-to expert for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and correcting problems with LAN/WAN services, and for installing, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading software on network systems. This position is fully on-site in the Maryland / Washington DC Metro area.Key Responsibilities:Administer LANs, WANs, and remote networks in a client/server environmentOperate and maintain servers, modems, switches, firewalls, and routersDiagnose, troubleshoot, and correct problems with LAN/WAN servicesInstall, configure, maintain, and upgrade software on network systemsImplement and maintain network security in accordance with applicable policies and directivesRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, or related field3 years of experience in a network support role in a multi-platform environmentThorough knowledge of and experience with network protocols, specifically Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification at IAT Level III (e.g., CCNP/CCIE)Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing & SwitchingJuniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA)Active Top Secret (TS) or Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance requiredU.S. Citizenship requiredAbility to work fully on-site in the Maryland / Washington DC Metro areaPreferred Qualifications:Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)Juniper Networks Enterprise Routing and Switching, SpecialistJuniper Networks Certified Specialist SecurityExperience supporting networks in satellite ground station or other 24/7 mission environmentsCompensation and Benefits:Competitive benefits packageProfessional development support and training budgetOpportunity to grow with a mission-driven, women-owned small business at the forefront of space operationsWhy Qwaltec?Qwaltec is more than a contractor — we are a team dedicated to mission success on and off the planet.
