Compensation In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $50,000 - $68,000 per year. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job‑related factors permitted by law. Benefits Health, dental, vision, life, accident, and critical illness insurance 403(b) retirement plan with match Paid time off Personal leave 12 paid holidays Mileage reimbursement ClassPass – wellness benefit with access to fitness classes, gyms, and wellness experiences 10% off tuition at CCU for online programs Bonuses Flexibility Employee assistance program Potential student loan forgiveness through the Public Service Federal Loan Forgiveness Program Growth opportunities available throughout the agency – we promote from within Responsibilities Provide direct teaching to students 225 days per year Plan and implement approved curriculum Develop and maintain approved individual written lesson plans Supervise students in the lunch room/cafeteria during assigned rotations Supervise support staff in the classroom and enlist special skills as needed Fulfill requirements for ongoing education (TTE/SEE) Work with youth who have emotional and behavioral issues resulting from trauma and neglect, including those who display verbal and physical aggression Qualifications And Skills Required Colorado teaching license or substitute teaching license (or eligibility for one) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Experience and strong skills in behavior management Strong classroom management skills and trauma‑informed practices Ability to organize and direct other teachers and paraprofessionals Strong communication skills for collaboration with team members, parents, and other professionals Highly organized with knowledge and experience with IEPs and special education laws Experience working with students on the autism spectrum is preferred but not required Special Education Generalist endorsement preferred; a Special Education endorsement is required for a Special Education teaching position Requirements At least 23 years of age Ability to utilize stress‑coping techniques during crises Ability to stand for long periods of time Basic math, reading, and writing proficiency Ability to climb a flight of stairs Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and 20 pounds overhead Ability to tolerate outside temperatures Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain one with a clean motor vehicle record Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening, including state criminal background checks, fingerprinting, sex offender registry searches, and abuse and neglect clearances. Applicants with recent out‑of‑state residence will undergo equivalent checks from those states.
