This role will ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of our financial statements while building the processes, controls, and systems needed to support continued growth.You will be a hands-on leader who can move comfortably between technical accounting, operational execution, team development, and cross-functional partnership. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building structure, and is equally willing to lead and roll up their sleeves.What You Will DoLead Month-End Close and Technical AccountingOwn and lead the full month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process across AP, AR, revenue, inventory, R&D, fixed assets, accruals, and other key areasPrepare, review, and approve complex journal entries and account reconciliationsEnsure all balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled with appropriate supporting documentationMaintain and improve close timelines while driving accuracy and efficiencyPrepare technical accounting analyses and memos for complex transactionsOwn Financial Reporting and AnalysisPrepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Statement of Cash FlowsEnsure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policiesPerform detailed variance analysis against budget and forecast, identifying key business driversDeliver executive-ready monthly and quarterly reporting packagesPartner closely with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planningStrengthen Internal Controls, SOX, and ComplianceDesign, document, implement, and test SOX-aligned internal controlsEnsure compliance with U.S. GAAP, federal and state tax requirements, and internal policiesLead coordination of external audits and support regulatory examinationsProactively identify and mitigate financial statement risk through strong controls and documentationOptimize Processes and SystemsOptimize ERP workflows, with QuickBooks strongly preferred, to enhance efficiency and shorten close cyclesLead system enhancements, new module implementations, and finance-related integrationsImprove reconciliation processes, reporting automation, and financial visibilityImplement workflow automation tools to increase productivity and reduce manual processesLead ERP implementation projects, including system selection, configuration, data migration, testing, and go-live executionServe as the finance lead for ERP upgrades, new module implementations, and system integrationsLead and Develop the Accounting TeamSupervise, mentor, and develop two to three accounting professionals, including staff accountants and AP/AR specialistsEstablish performance goals and provide ongoing coaching and technical guidanceFoster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellenceProvide training on technical accounting topics and evolving GAAP standardsProvide Strategic and Ad Hoc SupportSupport investment due diligence, M&A activities, and special projectsAssist with board and investor reporting as neededPerform other accounting- and finance-related responsibilities as assignedYour QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldExperience: 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years of people management experienceClose Ownership: Demonstrated ownership of full-cycle month-end close and financial statement preparation in a U.S. GAAP environmentTechnical Accounting: Strong technical accounting knowledge under U.S. GAAPSaaS Experience: Experience in a SaaS or subscription-based revenue environment is strongly preferredSystems and Tools: Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling; proficiency in Google Sheets; and hands-on ERP experience, with QuickBooks strongly preferredAutomation: Experience with workflow automation and accounting systemsAnalytical Mindset: Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracyCommunication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to partner cross-functionally with operations, sales, and leadership teamsPreferred QualificationsActive CPA license, or actively pursuing a CPA license, is strongly preferredBig 4 or large regional public accounting experienceExperience with multi-entity or international consolidationsKnowledge of transfer pricing and intercompany eliminationsExperience supporting private equity-backed or venture-backed companiesWhy This Role MattersIn a hyper-growth SaaS company, clean financials aren't optional—they're foundational.
