Junior Project Manager

Job Summary Position: Junior Project Manager (Intern) Hours: Full-Time – 35 hours Location: 30-30 Thomson Avenue, LIC, NY 11101 Under the supervision of a Project Manager, the selected candidate will perform entry‑level project management work and receive training in senior‑level responsibilities. Responsibilities Maintain a project management information system to provide data for the planning and control of project development. Establish project timeframes and cost schedules. Determine and coordinate project activities required between client agencies, contractors, and departments responsible for project completion. Review all schedules, reports, and orders prepared by consultants, contractors, and client agencies to assure compliance with project completion dates. Check contractors' work performance via field visits and on‑site inspections. Prepare management reports. Resolve problems that arise in meeting schedules and assigned budgets. Requirements Only candidates who are permanent in the Project Manager Intern title or who are reachable on the Open‑Competitive list #5114 may apply. Candidates must provide a copy of their Notice of Result card or indicate if they are already permanent in the title. If a candidate does not meet the civil‑service criteria, they will not be considered for an interview. All candidates must be currently authorized to work full‑time in the United States. Candidates are required to present original documents proving citizenship or the legal right to work in the U.S. DDC does not support or sponsor any visa application or extension. All candidates must have proper U.S. work authorization at the time an employment offer is made. Qualifications A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration. A master’s degree in architecture that is the first professional degree in architecture from an accredited college or university. Educational credentials must be from a U.S. Department of Education–recognized accredited institution. Credentials from foreign institutions require independent equivalency verification from an approved evaluation service.
