Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac Cath Lab for a travel nursing job in Chicago, Illinois.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/05/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 40 hours per week\n Shift: 10 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 4x10hrs\n Hours: 40 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 5, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring an active IL RN license and a minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience.Details\n \n Level 1 Trauma Center, Level III Perinatal Center, teaching hospital, Magnet designated, and comprehensive stroke center with 397 beds\n Cardiac Cath Lab unit with 3 cath labs performing procedure, cath, and EP cases\n Case types include diagnostic/interventional cardiac catheterization, LHC/RCH, NSTEMI and STEMI, Impella, IABPs, Rotoblator, CTOs/staged PCI, shockwave, temp pacers, peripheral diagnostic/intervention, and loop recorders\n EP cases include Micra, pacemaker, AICDs, lead extractions/revisions, and generator changes\n Average daily caseload of 5-15 cases\n 10-hour day shifts from 0700-1730\n No floating required\n On-call required, including weekend call rotation (2 shifts per 4-week schedule) and 4-5 additional weekday overnight call shifts per 4-week schedule\n 30-minute response time required for call with no sleep room available\n EMR: EPIC; IV Pump: Alaris; Med dispensing: Pyxis; Hemodynamics: Phillips; PACS: Merge; Unit equipment: Phillips c-arm\n Requirements\n \n Active IL RN license required\n BLS and ACLS certifications required\n Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required\n Minimum 12 months of core specialty experience with most recent experience within the last year\n Experience with moderate sedation using Versed/Fentanyl and critical drip management required\n Experience monitoring and circulating cases required\n Experience with EPIC EMR required\n Candidate's middle name or initial, DOB, and last 4 of SSN required for consideration\n Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required\n Additional Information\n \n Responsibilities include monitoring and circulating Cath Lab and EP cases, moderate sedation administration, and critical drip management\n Department support includes a Charge RN who participates in cases, receptionist, hospitalist/physician availability after hours, respiratory therapy, and management/supervisory staff\n Orientation includes NEO and 1 day on the unit\n Possible on-call coverage required for holidays\n RTO approval granted for up to 7 days\n Scrubs provided\n Schedule is self-scheduled in 6-week increments with final manager approval\n First-time travelers are not accepted for this position\n Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions\n Former Advocate Health employees or subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-708993.
