Lead Software Engineer - Java (Marketing Platform)

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with at least 5 years of applied experience
• Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Java or C#/.NET
• Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, test acceleration, or troubleshooting, and setting expectations for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, resiliency, and security; experience coaching engineers in safe, compliant adoption
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise-wide automation and workflows
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Proficiency across the Software Development Life Cycle
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes in a discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile
• Practical cloud-native experience, such as with AWS or Azure
• Preferred: Experience supporting Marketing Technology, customer engagement, lead management, campaign management, event technology, or CRM platforms
• Preferred: Ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives involving product management, operations, engineering, and external vendors
• Preferred: Experience evaluating, integrating, and governing enterprise SaaS platforms in a regulated environment
• Preferred: Strong understanding of data, analytics, and AI-driven solutions for marketing and client engagement use cases

• Develop creative software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting, taking approaches beyond routine methods to solve technical problems
• Build secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate recurring issues and improve the operational stability of applications and systems
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical capabilities, and fit with existing systems and information architecture
• Lead Software Engineering communities of practice to increase awareness and use of emerging technologies
• Foster a team culture grounded in diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
• Drive adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes; establish validation standards such as secure coding, peer review, and automated testing, and encourage reuse of effective patterns
• Apply Software Development Life Cycle toolchain capabilities, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation tools, to increase the value of automation
• Work with senior business, product, and technology stakeholders to turn strategic objectives into executable technology roadmaps and delivery plans
