Caring for patients having difficulty with the heart's rhythm and electrical signaling, our experts in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing are the leaders in the diagnosis and care of patients with atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, Wolff Parkinson White syndrome, flutter and other abnormal heart rhythms. In the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab, we offer a variety of highly specialized approaches to heart-rhythm problems. As an RN serving these patients, you will ensure they feel comfortable and safe throughout treatment. This position offers you an opportunity to enhance your critical care nursing while also having the chance to be cross trained in the Cath Lab.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 5:30PM or 7:30AM – 6:00PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in a variety of healthcare settings.  

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.  

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Perform telephone triage and call rotations.  

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications. 

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.  

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.  

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Direct, coordinate and participate in the evaluation and supervision of nursing care provided to patients. 

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.  

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Educate patients and families.  

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Develop, evaluate, adapt and document education to meet learning needs and abilities of patients and families. 

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Cover other nursing roles in the department. 

\n

\n

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

\n

\n
• \n

  Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program) 

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) 

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire 

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within six months of hire 

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  One year of recent RN experience OR licensed RN with at least two years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedural department 

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Current demonstrated clinical competence 

\n

\n

\n

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) 

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Two years of recent RN experience 

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  One year of critical care experience in a hospital setting 

\n

Physical Requirements:

\n
• Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
\n
• Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
\n
• Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
\n
• Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
\n
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
\n
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
\n

Personal Protective Equipment:

\n
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
\n

\n

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
