Peer Recovery Specialist - Adjunct Faculty

Peer Recovery Adjunct faculty are needed to teach Peer RecoverySpecialist training courses on campus day, evening, weekend, remotesynchronous, and/or online classes at the Community College ofBaltimore County. Adjunct faculty will be expected to facilitatelearning via preparation and delivery of instruction, cooperationwith College support staff in timely submission of materials andgrades as required, and coordination of activities with theDepartment Chair and/or Program Coordinator. Adjunct faculty areselected based on program needs and subject matter expertise of theapplicant. Adjunct faculty are required to attend departmentmeetings, participate in professional development related toclassroom instruction and pedagogy, be available to studentsoutside of class, and assist in maintaining programaccreditation. Pay Level: $1085 per credit hour Minimum Requirements Bachelors degree in Human Services, Counseling, Family Studies,Social Work, or related field Valid Maryland certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist orRegistered Peer Supervisor required A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Peer RecoverySpecialist Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applicationsknowledge. Preferred Requirements Master’s degree in Human Services, Counseling, Family Studies,Social Work, or related field Endorsement as a CCAR Faciliator Prior online and/or remote synchronous college teachingexperience. Experience using classroom technology and learning managementsystems Two (2) years teaching experience, college teachingexperience Class Specific Essential Duties Fulfills department and college responsibilities as directed bythe Department Chair and/or Program Coordinator. Abides by College wide policies and procedures regardingclassroom conduct. Employs a variety of teaching strategies to meet a diversestudent population. Adheres to the scheduled time of class. Develops a course syllabus that is in keeping with program andCollege policies. Ensures that program specific evaluation methods areadministered and completed in a consistent and equitablemanner. Assure that assessment/evaluation methods are appropriate andeffectively assessing the established course objectives. Monitors student performance on a regular basis and providesfeedback within a reasonable timeframe to students. CCBC Part Time Benefits At A Glance BENEFIT SUMMARY Supplemental (Retirement Annuities) 403(b) and 457(b) Tax-sheltered annuities – 403(b). Payroll salary reductionauthorization is needed. Roth 403(b) is a savings feature that is available when youopen a 403(b) account. The Roth 403(b) savings feature allowsemployees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdrawtax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors:TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, PartTime Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save forretirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees maycontribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b)post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combinedfor the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions. Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYAFinancial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorizationform is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/HumanResources Forms. Parking Free. Must obtain a parking permit from the Department of PublicSafety to use on all campuses.
