Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Must hold a valid nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS (required for floating to SD/ICU), NIHSS (can obtain after offered) Must-Have: Must be able to pass EKG testing before the start date. Must be open to floating to any MS/Tele, SD/PCU, or possibly ICU unit depending on skills and need. Description: This position involves providing care as the primary nurse to a team of patients. You will float between eight acute care inpatient departments. The daily responsibilities include managing a patient ratio of 1:7. You are expected to work every other weekend or two weekends per month. Travelers requesting time off during any holiday or holiday week will not be accommodated. You will have access to interdisciplinary support services, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Key responsibilities include: Accessing and managing ports. Administering blood products. Managing colostomy and ileostomy care. Caring for patients post-surgery. Handling telemetry and remote monitoring. Providing care for CVA and mood disorders. Managing various patient conditions, including renal failure and substance withdrawal. You will utilize EMR systems for documentation and medication management. Floating is in accordance with floating policies and the clinical experiences of the worker. This position requires strong adaptability and communication skills. A commitment to patient care and safety is essential.
