Senior Underwriter - Midwest

About the Role The Senior Underwriter is a key member of the underwriting team reporting to the Regional Underwriting Manager. The primary goal of this position is to profitably grow a book of business by actively partnering with Agents and working effectively with colleagues throughout the organization. This person will plan and budget for the book of business, develop and maintain agency relationships, and execute underwriting decisions. What You'll Do Business Management: Reviewing your book of business, tracking performance, and analyzing market conditions and competition. Broker Partnership: Building and managing broker relationships, developing goals and strategies, and collaborating to craft tailored solutions for members. Underwriting Execution: Oversee new and renewal underwriting, select risks per company guidelines, and ensure timely follow-up and closing of accounts. What You'll Need At least 5 years of experience underwriting, preferably in the high net worth space, and comfortable owning a book of business. Direct, empathetic communication and the ability to build connections with people. Ability to gather and analyze data to make informed risk decisions. Practical, driven, and committed to delivering high-quality results. The base salary for this role can range from $75,000 to $95,000 based on a full-time work schedule. An individual’s ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience.
