Office Assistant, Special Facilities Division The Calvert County Department of Parks & Recreation is seeking an Office Assistant for the Special Facilities Division. The Office Assistant will provide administrative, clerical, financial, and customer‑service support for the Division’s revenue‑generating operations, including Chesapeake Hills Golf Course, Breezy Point Beach & Campground, Armory Square Pavilion, and Countywide Food & Beverage Services. Responsibilities Prepare and process invoices for payment, track expenditures, and maintain financial records. Assist with procurement documentation and support budget administration. Receive, sort, file, and respond to incoming office communication; proof standard items for distribution. Greet and assist visitors, answer substantive questions, and direct callers or mail to the appropriate offices. Key data into computer databases, code and verify, update and correct records, and produce printouts. Maintain manual and/or automated financial, accounting, personnel, and other administrative files; ensure confidentiality. Produce word‑processed documents such as letters, memoranda, and reports; proofread for accuracy in grammar, spelling, and style. Communicate within County and with external entities to arrange schedules, meetings, and relay information; follow up to ensure matters are acted upon. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent, including or supplemented by courses in office practices. One year of general office clerical experience. Excellent organizational, communication, and customer‑service skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and County financial and reservation software systems. Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy in financial and administrative records. Ability to work under general supervision and coordinate with other County agencies or units. Required Licenses/Certificates Driver’s license may be required; candidate may be required to drive a county‑owned vehicle. Physical Demands Operation of keyboard devices for sustained periods. Work is subject to frequent interruptions. Benefits Pay rate: $24.22–$25.93 per hour; $44,080–$47,193 annually; Grade 716, full‑time, 35 hours per week. 15 days of sick leave. 10 days of annual leave. 5 days of personal leave. 13 paid holidays (14 in an election year).
