Safety Coordinator

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Safety Coordinator (or Safety Manager) to work out of a fabrication/manufacturing shop in Laurel, MD. This position will assist the Safety Manager and Division Safety Manager by planning, coordinating, and implementing their safety, health and environmental protection programs, ensuring compliance with corporate safety standards and industry regulations, and promoting a safe, incident-free work environment for employees.

Report concerns to safety management and ensure health and safety standards are met by coordinating, promoting and conducting various programs and activities related to the safety management system.
Document safety inspections, cite dangerous areas/procedures and recommend corrective procedures.
Provide recommendations for correcting non-compliance issues and ensure cited issues are corrected within designated time frame

Skills and Requirements

· Minimum 3+ years of experience working as a safety professional in a manufacturing, fabrication shop, active construction, or warehouse environment

· Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health or Environmental Applied Sciences is required or related field - strong plus

· OSHA 10hr and OSHA 30hr

· CPR and First Aid Certifications

· Must be able to pass BC/ DT - CHST or other related safety certifications
