Our organization is in search of a collaborative physician executive to take on the role of Medical Director, providing both strategic and clinical guidance for a comprehensive student health initiative.

The Medical Director will oversee a diverse team of medical professionals, including physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, specialty physicians, athletic trainers, and other clinical staff. As part of the executive team at University Health Services, this leader will work closely with colleagues in mental health, health promotion, wellness, allied health, and administration.

Our integrated health services encompass medical care, counseling, psychiatry, dental services, pharmacy, laboratory work, x-ray, and embedded behavioral health support. The incoming Medical Director will enhance coordination among these services, ensuring students have easier access to the care and resources they require.

This role primarily emphasizes administrative and organizational leadership, while allowing for a limited clinical presence to maintain connections with students and frontline staff.

The ideal candidate will be an approachable, visible leader who values relationships, listens attentively, communicates openly, and fosters trust across various disciplines. Opportunity Highlights

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree and hold ABMS-approved board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine. A valid Oregon medical license, or the ability to obtain one by the agreed-upon start date, is essential. Preferred qualifications include a minimum of three years of supervisory experience, experience in college health at a large public institution, and leadership experience in a multidisciplinary, highly matrixed healthcare setting.
