BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN SUPERVISOR

Purpose - The Behavioral Health Technician Supervisor owns treatment-floor structure, BHT team execution, client engagement support, schedule coverage, group readiness, documentation follow-through, and real-time floor accountability. This role ensures BHTs and BHT Leads actively support exposure work, maintain safety, complete assigned tasks, and prevent idle or unstructured client time.Key Performance Indicators and ReportingMaintain required BHT floor coverage, group support, shift assignments, and schedule accuracy according to facility needs.Ensure BHT documentation, group notes, scale collection, homework collection, and assigned tracking tasks are completed accurately and on time.Maintain BHT clinical quality audit scores at or above Company threshold.Ensure BHTs and BHT Leads complete required training, competencies, supervision, and coaching plans within assigned timelines.Support facility client satisfaction, attendance, engagement, and early-discharge reduction through active treatment-floor support.Maintain safe, clean, structured, and therapeutic treatment-floor environment during programming hours.Escalate safety concerns, staff-performance issues, client disengagement, and floor-structure breakdowns promptly to Program Director or clinical leadership.Upon achieving these key performance indicators, your supervisor will meet with you to review progress and collaborate on establishing new performance goals that reflect continued growth and excellence.Core CompetenciesDemonstrate ability to supervise BHT Leads and BHTs with clear expectations, scheduling discipline, floor presence, and accountability.Demonstrate understanding of ERP support, exposure setup, response-prevention encouragement, client engagement, group support, and treatment-floor structure.Demonstrate ability to identify idle time, avoidance, unsafe behavior, staff drift, group disorganization, and client disengagement quickly.Demonstrate calm leadership, conflict resolution, de-escalation support, and appropriate escalation during crisis or risk events.Demonstrate strong organization, communication, documentation follow-up, and staff coaching.Core Responsibilities - These duties may vary depending on job assignments and Company needs.Create and maintain BHT schedules, floor assignments, group coverage, break coverage, and contingency plans for absences or client-volume changes.Supervise BHT Leads and BHTs through daily direction, observation, coaching, correction, and performance follow-up.Ensure the treatment floor remains active, structured, clean, safe, and aligned with Company treatment expectations throughout the day.Verify BHTs are collecting homework, supporting exposures, completing documentation, assisting groups, tracking scales, and communicating client concerns to clinicians.Train and coach BHT team members on de-escalation, boundaries, documentation, exposure support, safety procedures, group support, and client engagement.Audit BHT performance, group support, notes, scale completion, floor behavior, and adherence to assigned schedules.Partner with Program Director, Associate Program Director, clinicians, Facility Coordinator, and Front Desk to keep programming organized and client-centered.Address BHT attendance, punctuality, professionalism, task completion, communication, and conduct concerns through coaching and escalation when needed.Support incident response, emergency procedures, environmental safety checks, and immediate communication during client or facility concerns.Perform other treatment-floor leadership duties as assigned.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related fieldTwo or more years of behavioral health, client support, group support, treatment-floor, residential, IOP, PHP, or related experience preferred.One or more years of supervisory, lead, training, scheduling, or team-coordination experience preferred.Experience supporting clients with OCD, anxiety, trauma-related symptoms, or emotionally distressed populations preferred.Completion of Company BHT Supervisor training and required competencies within assigned timelines required.Must pass all required background checks and meet all Company, payer, licensing, and regulatory requirements.Skills and ExpertiseTreatment-floor leadership, scheduling, staff coaching, de-escalation support, documentation follow-up, and client engagement.Ability to move quickly from observation to direction when clients or staff are idle, distressed, avoidant, or unclear.Ability to communicate clearly with BHTs, clinicians, Program Director, families, and clients while staying within scope.Strong organization, conflict resolution, calmness under pressure, and practical problem solving.Ability to hold team accountability without becoming harsh, passive, or inconsistent.Physical DemandsAbility to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility during programming, meetings, groups, observations, and client-support activities.Ability to use a computer, electronic health record, phone, video platform, and standard office equipment for extended periods.Ability to occasionally lift or move office, clinical, or training materials up to 25 pounds, with reasonable accommodation as required by law.Ability to work in a behavioral health environment that may include emotionally distressed clients, family conflict, crisis escalation, and time-sensitive decisions.Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) statementOCD Anxiety Centers is committed to providing equal opportunity for all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, sexual orientation, genetics, disability, political affiliation, personal appearance, family responsibilities, or any other legally protected class under federal, state, or local law.
