Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced National Sales Manager to lead wholesale sales growth for both Sturdi Products and Elite Pet. This role is responsible for developing new retail partnerships, expanding distributor relationships, and increasing national wholesale revenue.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with established relationships in the pet industry who enjoys opening new doors, growing brands, and making a meaningful impact within a small company.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a national wholesale sales strategy for both brands.
- Identify and secure new retail accounts, distributors, and strategic partners.
- Build relationships with independent pet retailers, regional chains, national retailers, and distributors.
- Prospect and generate new business through outreach, networking, and industry connections.
- Represent the company at industry trade shows including Global Pet Expo, SuperZoo, and other pet industry events.
- Prepare and present sales presentations, product line reviews, and retailer proposals.
- Negotiate pricing, promotions, and wholesale programs.
- Manage customer relationships from initial outreach through ongoing account management.
- Partner with leadership on product launches, merchandising opportunities, and overall sales strategy.
- Provide market intelligence, competitive analysis, and customer feedback to help guide future product development.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasting and pipeline reporting.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of wholesale sales experience, preferably within the pet products industry.
- Proven success developing new wholesale business and opening national and regional retail accounts.
- Existing relationships within the pet retail industry are highly preferred.
- Experience working with distributors and specialty retail partners.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working in a fast-paced small business environment.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout the United States for customer meetings and trade shows.
Preferred Experience
- Experience selling pet products into independent retailers, regional chains, and national accounts.
- Knowledge of the pet industry, buying cycles, and wholesale distribution channels.
- Experience launching new product lines into retail.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and wholesale sales forecasting.
