Sales Manager

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading, directing, and developing the sales team to achieve company revenue and profitability goals. This role drives sales performance through strategic planning, customer relationship management, team coaching, and continuous process improvement. The Sales Manager works closely with cross‑functional departments to ensure customer satisfaction and business growth.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company sales objectives and revenue targets in collaboration with Director of Sales/Commodity Management. Lead, motivate, and manage a team of sales representatives to maximize performance and productivity. Establish individual and team sales goals, monitor results, and provide regular performance feedback. Coach and mentor sales team members through training, field visits, and performance development plans. Analyze sales reports, market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities. Manage and grow key customer accounts while fostering strong customer relationships. Oversee sales forecasting, pipeline management. Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, and Customer Service teams to ensure alignment of business objectives. Ensure the effective use of CRM systems and sales management tools. Prepare and present sales performance reports to senior leadership in collaboration with Director of Sales/Commodity Management. Recruit, onboard, and train new sales personnel as needed. Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical business practices. Ability to cross‑train with other duties to assist the rest of the staff as needed. Other tasks might be assigned.

SKILL / QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Sales, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, or a related field preferred. 10+ years of proven sales experience. 6+ years of sales leadership or management experience preferred. Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets. Strong leadership and team development skills. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to negotiate and close business opportunities. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to develop strategic sales plans and execute effectively. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to effectively communicate with clients and staff members. Ability to work with other department heads to develop effective cross‑functional strategies. Self‑Starter. Reliable and trustworthy.
