Service Technician – Plumbing (Union Pay Scale)

Tonawanda, NY | Full-Time | Rotating On-Call

We're looking for an experienced  Commercial Service Plumber who enjoys solving complex problems, working independently, and delivering exceptional service to customers.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose and repair commercial plumbing systems, including domestic water, drainage, pumps, water heaters, fixtures, and backflow devices
• Troubleshoot pressure, flow, drainage, and piping issues in occupied commercial buildings
• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency service calls
• Complete digital work orders, document repairs, and communicate findings clearly
• Coordinate system shutdowns with customers to minimize disruption
• Identify additional repair opportunities and submit recommendations
• Mentor apprentices and support team development

What We're Looking For

• Municipality-specific plumbing licenses
• Strong commercial plumbing service experience
• Ability to troubleshoot systems with limited documentation
• Experience reading plumbing drawings and riser diagrams
• Knowledge of plumbing codes and safety standards
• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
• Comfortable using tablets or mobile devices for digital documentation
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation

Preferred Qualifications

• Backflow Prevention Device Tester Certification
• Healthcare, laboratory, or higher education facility experience
• Steam, hydronic heating, or process piping experience
• Camera inspection, jetting, and pipe locating experience
• Welding or brazing certifications
• Experience mentoring apprentices or leading small crews
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

Physical Requirements

This position requires lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, working in mechanical rooms, crawl spaces, and confined spaces, exposure to varying weather conditions, driving between customer sites, and wearing required PPE.
