Overview Registered Nurse – ER, Fairfield, Iowa, United States. Travel assignment beginning 08/31/2026 for 13 weeks, with weekly pay of $2,288–$2,351 per week and 36 guaranteed hours per week. Shift: 3x12-hour nights. This role takes place in a Critical Access Hospital ER, focusing on comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, directing patient teaching, and coordinating with ancillary staff. Onboarding and credentialing support are provided to facilitate a smooth start. Key Highlights Weekly pay: $2,288–$2,351 per week Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week Contract duration: 13 weeks with potential extension Shift: 3x12-hour nights Start date: 08/31/2026 Setting: ER in a Critical Access Hospital Responsibilities Plan and deliver total patient care in the ER using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) Administer medications, monitor effects, and respond to changes in patient condition Direct and guide patient teaching; coordinate with physicians, technicians, and ancillary staff Triage patients, monitor vital signs, and initiate appropriate interventions Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record accurately Support discharge planning and patient education for post-visit care Maintain infection control, safety, and quality standards; ensure a safe environment for patients and staff Requirements Current Iowa RN license (active) Graduate of an accredited school of nursing BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required ER experience preferred, but not required Ability to perform 12-hour night shifts in a rural ER setting Willingness to complete standard employment health and credentialing requirements prior to start Benefits and Support 36 guaranteed hours per week 13-week travel assignment with potential extension Onboarding and credentialing coordination to support a timely start Ongoing assignment support and access to a recruiter for the duration of the contract About Healthforce Healthforce is a nationwide travel healthcare staffing agency connecting travel nurses and allied health professionals with high-quality contract assignments across the United States.
