Billing Clerk

HIRING IMMEDIATELY: BILLING CLERK IN MOUNT PROSPECT, IL Accurate Personnel is hiring immediately for a Billing Clerk to join our team in Mount Prospect, IL. This individual will be responsible for reviewing completed moves, entering billing information, verifying rates and accessorial charges, and ensuring customer invoices are accurate and submitted timely. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with detailed information, numbers, and computer systems and has a general understanding of intermodal transportation and how drayage operations work. Previous intermodal or transportation billing experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate who has a strong conceptual understanding of the industry and the ability to learn our billing processes. Pay, Schedule, and Location Starting at $25/hour, paid weekly Excellent benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision Full time schedule Located in Mount Prospect, IL Duties and Responsibilities Process and audit customer invoices for completed drayage and intermodal moves. Review completed loads to ensure all billable services and revenue opportunities are captured. Verify customer rates and applicable accessorial charges. Review and apply charges such as detention, demurrage, storage, chassis, fuel surcharges, and other applicable fees. Ensure required documentation is complete and available for billing. Identify missing information, incorrect charges, or other billing discrepancies. Make corrections and follow up with the appropriate department when additional information is needed. Submit accurate and timely customer invoices. Enter billing and operational information accurately into company systems. Maintain accurate billing records and supporting documentation. Review load information, dispatch records, rate information, and other documentation to verify billing accuracy. Assist with reconciliation of billing-related information. Maintain organized electronic records and documentation. Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous billing, data entry, accounting, transportation, logistics, or administrative experience preferred. General knowledge or familiarity with intermodal transportation, drayage, ocean containers, terminals, or freight operations strongly preferred. Previous intermodal or transportation billing experience is a plus, but not required. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Comfortable working with numbers and reviewing detailed information. Strong computer and data entry skills. Ability to learn new software and company-specific systems. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to identify discrepancies and follow through to resolution. Ability to work independently while also communicating effectively with a team. Dependable, organized, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
