Creative Direction Consultant

Ishlab Productions is looking to add an experienced music industry Creative Direction Consultant to our team to help us develop an international, multi-genre visual branding strategy for an up-and-coming creative music team primarily based in New York City and Medellin, Colombia.

About Us

Ishlab Music was founded in 2000 as a recording studio and music Production Company based in Brooklyn, NY. Based in an ethos of teamwork and collaboration, the studio facilitated recordings for great talent such as A$AP Rocky, M.I.A., Skrillex, Roberta Flack, Santigold, Mac Miller, K. Flay, Marc E Bassy, and French Montana. 

The production company provided music for notable events by Vogue, Daniel Craig, and Tom Cruise.

And broadcast channels including EA Games, ESPN, and MTV. 

Ishlab Music is now venturing into artist development.

Specific Responsibilities

• Create a vision for the Ishlab brand that translates into powerful and authentic storytelling that drives awareness/consideration.
• Develop a creative vision for how our brand looks and feels through integrated marketing campaigns, social campaigns, digital music media, and physical media.
• Lead the visual development of brand campaigns, providing expertise in typography, color theory, layout, and user experience.
• Lead creative brainstorming sessions, providing clear guidance, feedback, and inspiration to generate impactful ideas.
• Provide strategic guidance to artists, helping determine the most effective creative direction, narrative, and assets for individual campaigns.
• Provide insight into industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure our creative work is fresh and relevant.
• Develop the end-to-end creative process, from concept development to final execution, ensuring alignment with the company''s brand values and marketing objectives.

Experience & Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 years of experience at a major record label or large indie label.
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of experience in graphic design, visual brand management, or similar experience.
• Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present concepts and strategies to artists.
• Familiarity with global branding and working across international markets.
• Passionate about music & culture.
