As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security‑related incidents. You will support residents, staff, and visitors with strong communication and customer service while documenting activity and reporting concerns. What You’ll Do Provide customer service to clients, staff, and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, including de‑escalating conflicts and requesting assistance from supervisors and/or local responders as needed. Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the facility and surrounding perimeter to help deter unwanted activity, identify hazards, and report maintenance and/or policy concerns. Control access points by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying authorization as required, and directing visitors to appropriate areas in accordance with site procedures. Complete daily activity reports and incident documentation, communicate observations and status updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision, and support investigations by preserving observations and relevant details. Minimum Requirements Have at least 1 year of security‑related experience. Client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED. Be at least 21 years of age. CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post‑hire. CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post‑hire. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
