Engineering Internship/Co-op Spring 2027
Shaw's Internship and Co-op Program is designed to attract talented students eager to gain real-world experience, develop in-demand skills, and make meaningful contributions. Through hands-on projects, mentorship, and professional development opportunities, participants make an impact from day one while building a strong foundation for future career success.
Shaw Industries is more than an industry leading flooring company we are an organization built of dedicated people working to provide the best quality flooring solutions to our customers across residential, commercial, and outdoor markets worldwide. Headquartered in Dalton, Georgia, Shaw Industries is a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. with more than $5 billion in annual sales and approximately 17,000 associates; we are dedicated to values of inclusivity, sustainability, and making this world a better place for our people and our customers.
Students have the opportunity to complete a series of semesters, either rotating between school/work or sequentially, working onsite in Shaw's manufacturing operations facilities in an engineering capacity. We will help you match with a facility that best utilizes your skills and interests to develop yourself and the onsite team. Here, we empower and encourage our trainees to work with our engineering staff and apply both knowledge and problem-solving skills to ongoing facility projects; these often include tackling real-world issues and gives trainees valuable technical experience for a successful career start. Project work typically begins more basic during the student's first semester and will progressively get more advanced and impactful as the student gains experience. Upon completing multiple semesters as an intern or co-op, you will have grown your own knowledge of working in a full-time position as an engineer in manufacturing and will be developmentally ready to interview for full-time positions with us upon graduation.
Purpose and meaningful work from the very beginning. A company dedicated to developing your professional skills, enabling you to gain real-world experience in projects you enjoy, and growing your professional network.
