About the Position

The RN Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a designated unit within a long-term care (LTC) facility. This role ensures high-quality resident care, supervises nursing staff, maintains regulatory compliance, and promotes a safe and supportive environment for residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily nursing care within the assigned LTC unit
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff including RNs, LPNs, and nursing assistants
• Ensure delivery of resident-centered care in accordance with care plans
• Conduct regular rounds to assess resident conditions and address concerns
• Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams
• Oversee medication administration and treatment procedures
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and infection control standards
• Manage staffing schedules, assignments, and unit workflow
• Handle resident/family concerns and support communication
• Participate in care planning meetings and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate documentation and audit records

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc Nursing) or GNM (as per facility requirement)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (as per local/state nursing council)
• Minimum 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in long-term care or geriatrics
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
