Human Resources Generalist

Role Human Resource Generalist at Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS), located in Carson, CA. This full‑time position is responsible for managing employee relations and general HR duties in a high‑volume hourly manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Employee Relations Serve as the first point of contact for employee concerns, complaints and workplace issues Conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations into employee relations matters Partner with supervisors to promote a positive, inclusive, and compliant work environment Ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and employment laws Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of employee relation cases Support conflict resolution and mediation efforts in a fast‑paced, high‑volume hourly environment General HR Responsibilities Support all aspects of internal and external recruitment and selection processes for hourly positions, including completing new hire documents and data entry Conduct phone, virtual, and in‑person interviews Stay current with recruiting methods and attend job fairs and career events Coordinate, update, and deliver new hire orientation programs and onboarding sessions Process employee status changes such as promotions, salary adjustments, new hires, and terminations, and track reports on these changes by month, quarter, and year Maintain comprehensive knowledge of HR policies, employee records, leave of absence, benefits, compensation, and relations Advise managers, supervisors, and leaders on policies, state and federal regulations, salary issues, and effective HR practices Initiate and coordinate activities designed to promote and maintain a high level of employee morale Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager of Human Resources Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience, with exposure to employee relations Legal authorization to work in the United States (verification at hire) U.S. person status required by ITAR regulations Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field 5 years of Human Resources experience HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) Experience in an engineering, production, and/or manufacturing environment supporting both exempt and hourly workforces Familiarity with human resources information systems and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel Knowledge of California employment laws Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems HR experience at a large global corporation with an HR Shared Services function Additional Requirements Must be able to work on site full time in Carson, California. Remote work not considered. Benefits and Salary The position offers competitive wages ranging from $78,000 to $95,000 per year and a comprehensive benefits package available day one of hire, including health, dental, and vision insurance, an excellent 401(k) matching program, paid holidays, and vacation.
