Human Resources Generalist

Rare Genomics Institute (RGI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping rare disease patients find a diagnosis, treatment, and path to a cure. As RGI continues to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and mission‑driven Human Resources Generalist to join our volunteer team. This role will report to the Human Resources Lead and will support the development and implementation of key HR processes that help attract, engage, and retain talented volunteers across the organization. The HR Generalist will collaborate with leadership and cross‑functional teams to support core HR activities such as volunteer recruitment and onboarding, HR operations, policy development, and employee engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a passion for people and culture, and an interest in building scalable HR practices within a mission‑driven nonprofit environment. This role plays an important part in ensuring that RG continues to foster a supportive and inclusive volunteer experience while enabling our teams to effectively advance our mission. By strengthening the people and processes behind the organization, this position ultimately supports patients, families, caregivers, and researchers in accessing critical knowledge and resources about rare diseases. Responsibilities Assist in the development and execution of programs and processes to attract, onboard, develop and retain key talent across the company. Participate in the recruiting function; applicant tracking, candidate sourcing and selection while coordinating with Hiring Managers. Conduct employee orientation/onboarding and offboarding processes. Act as a resource for general inquiries and provide a confidential communication channel for all employees. Partner with the management team on strategic initiatives including job design, talent reviews, retention, and employee communications. Serve as point of contact for employee related issues and concerns. Provide coaching and support to management and staff regarding employee relations issues, performance management, policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with employment‑related laws and company policies. Continuously review processes to identify areas for improvement. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Experience in human resources. Excellent time management, analytical, organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and HRIS systems. Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as solid presentation skills. Must be willing and able to dedicate at least 3 hours per week to Rare Genomics work. #J-18808-Ljbffr
