Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer - Milling Reporting To: Leader, Mfg. Engineering Tech. Work Schedule: Onsite – Buffalo, NY Our Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer/NC Programmer to join our Prismatic Manufacturing Group in East Aurora, NY. As a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer, you’ll be at the forefront of both new product development and continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes. You’ll work hands-on with milled parts, applying advanced CNC programming and machining knowledge to solve challenges and optimize performance. As a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer, you will: Develop and optimize CNC Mill machining processes for both new and legacy components Create detailed CNC programs and manufacturing instructions that meet rigorous engineering specifications Define operation sequences, tooling, gauging, and machine requirements for precision part fabrication Troubleshoot shop floor issues, including tooling, gauging, workholding, and inspection challenges Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing problems and enhance producibility Create detailed operation sheets and NC programs to produce high-precision machined parts and sub-assemblies Review engineering drawings for manufacturability and recommend design improvements Assist in the creation of machine-ready code and be hands-on in the production environment, assisting with program prove-outs and troubleshooting Estimate setup/run times and tooling hours; contribute to cost estimation for new business proposals Mentor junior engineers and lead continuous improvement initiatives in processes and equipment To be considered for this role, here’s what you’ll typically bring: A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 3+ years of relevant professional experience, or an Associate degree with 6+ years of relevant professional experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of proven professional experience Proficiency in CNC Mill Machining 3+ years experience CNC Programming using CAD/CAM software Hands-on experience with machine setup and operation It’d be great if you also had: A degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering Background in the aerospace industry Experience with machine automation integration Skills in inspection of machined parts Hands-on experience machining stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum Proficiency in CNC Programming using Siemens NX Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles; Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus How we care for you: Financial Rewards: great compensation package, bonus opportunities, matching 401k, and the ability to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Plan (select locations), Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts Work/Life Balance: Flexible paid time off, holidays and parental leave program, relocation assistance.
