We are looking for self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented people to help us grow our services and become even better at what we do.Key responsibilities:Performs root cause analysis of material failures, provides effective solutions to production composite issuesGenerates test plans & reportsAnalyzes, researches, designs and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems. Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes. Develops, analyzes and applies material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specifications. Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications.May review and approve subcontractor material processing proceduresMay travel to subcontractor locationsBasic Qualifications:Principal M&P Engineer requires a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience to include a background in metallic materials for airframe structures OR Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 3 years of experience to include a background in metallic materials for airframe structuresSr Principal M&P Engineer requires a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 9 years of experience to include a background in metallic materials for airframe structures OR Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 7 years of experience to include a background in metallic materials for airframe structures OR PhD degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 4 years of experience to include a background in metallic materials for airframe structures. Experience with metals and their applications related to the fabrication and design on aircraftExperience with repair processes for metallic materials used in aerospace structuresMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret ClearanceMust have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearancePreferred Qualifications:BS or MS in Materials Science or similarExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to collaborate in a team environmentAbility to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneouslyAbility to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutionsExperience with military specs and standardsExperience interfacing with a military customerPrimary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
