Security Officer Patrol
As a Security Officer Patrol in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service. You will communicate professionally, report security-related concerns, and contribute to a welcoming environment. Monday 09:30 AM - 08:30 PM
Tuesday 09:30 AM - 03:00 PM
Thursday 09:30 AM - 08:30 PM
Saturday 09:30 AM - 08:30 PM
What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, offices, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions, access concerns, or policy violations.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and assist with directing guests and deliveries.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; communicate observations to appropriate site contacts and emergency responders.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and activity logs documenting patrols, incidents, and security-related observations.
Minimum Requirements:
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
