Revenue Specialist I

The Department of Revenue is the primary agency for collecting tax revenues that support state and local governments in Mississippi. This entry-level Revenue Specialist I position is in the Alcoholic Beverage Control's Permits Department. Responsibilities include:

• Advising ABC agents, employees, and taxpayers about permitting requirements and procedures.
• Reviewing and processing ABC permits and cannabis licenses.
• Processing fingerprint-card submissions, including FBI cards.
• Completing daily permitting tasks.
• Maintaining manager applications, transfer requests, and officer-change records.
• Verifying and updating permit information in MARS and NIC.
• Preparing and submitting deposit slips.
• Opening, stamping, sorting, and distributing department mail.
• Handling permitting-related calls.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Additionally, you should be able to communicate clearly, respond promptly, comply with applicable state laws and policies, maintain confidentiality, address issues effectively, exercise sound judgment, and work collaboratively. Preferred Qualifications typically require a Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma or high school equivalency and 4 years of experience.
