Senior Accounting Manager

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager in Clearwater, FL. Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close activities, and team development efforts. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, strengthening internal controls, and providing leadership to accounting staff. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader with strong technical expertise, process improvement experience, and the ability to partner effectively with business leadership. Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and account reconciliations
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, and supporting schedules
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and internal control requirements
• Lead financial statement preparation and management reporting activities
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits
• Research and resolve complex accounting issues and reporting questions
• Monitor balance sheet accounts and investigate significant variances
• Develop, implement, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and controls
• Partner with Finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and business planning initiatives
• Lead process improvement and automation efforts to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting team members while fostering accountability and professional growth
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Prior accounting management or supervisory experience
• Experience managing month-end close and financial statement preparation
• Experience supporting audits and internal controls
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
• Strong background in general ledger accounting and account reconciliations
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• CPA certification or CPA candidate
• Public accounting experience
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, or similar platforms
• Experience in multi-entity, corporate, or private equity-backed environments
• Experience leading accounting process improvements and system implementations
