Job Location: Wellness Clinic Youth Center (Excelsior Springs, MO - Kansas City Metro Area)
Job Title: Physician (Contract/1099/Independent Contractor)
Overview:
The wellness center is situated within a no-cost educational and vocational training program overseen by the U.S. Department of Labor. This initiative aims to assist young individuals in enhancing their lives through academic and technical training. Clinic hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with an immediate start available.
Position Responsibilities:
The clinic manages a variety of primary and acute care services, including:
- School physical examinations, treatment of minor sports injuries, management of hypertension, diabetes, ADHD, GERD, UTIs, URIs, STDs, sprains, allergies, wellness check-ups, and sick visits.
- Collaboration with mid-level providers, medical staff, wellness personnel, and substance abuse specialists as needed.
- Maintaining a low patient volume.
Role Summary:
This is a long-term contract position for a Locum Physician with our organization at the Excelsior Springs Job Corps in Excelsior Springs, MO. The Locum Physician will be responsible for conducting physical exams and providing minor acute medical care to students aged 16-24. We offer competitive compensation and professional liability insurance.
Qualifications:
- Possession of an active and unrestricted medical license in the state of Missouri.
- Experience in delivering medical care to adolescents, including performing basic procedures and prescribing medications.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Availability to work 18 hours per week (no weekends required).
- Previous experience as a locum physician is advantageous.
- Valid Federal DEA license is required.
Job Type: Part-time, Contract
Compensation: $155.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 18 hours per week
Schedule:
- 8-hour shifts
- Day shifts
- No weekend work
