Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Gastroenterology

This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to provide exceptional patient care on-site in a dynamic medical practice environment.

As a Locum Gastroenterologist, you will play a critical role in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal conditions, working collaboratively with our healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care. You'll have the chance to engage with a diverse patient population while contributing to the efficiency of our medical practice and ensuring the well-being of our patients.

 

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient consultations and assessments in Gastroenterology
• Diagnose and manage gastrointestinal disorders
• Perform necessary procedures, such as endoscopies and biopsies
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in Gastroenterology
• Provide education and support to patients regarding their conditions

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Board certification in Gastroenterology is preferred
• Residency training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology
• Experience providing patient-centered care in a medical practice setting
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills in Gastroenterology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
• Valid medical license to practice in the state of New York

Schedule: 24-hour call shifts

Setting: Inpatient

Patient Volume: 6-7 procedures per day

Duties: Rounding, inpatient consults, and performing ERCPs

Support Staff: APPs

EMR: MediTech

Must be board-certified
