Position OverviewSt. Vincent de Paul Dayton seeks a creative and mission-driven Marketing & Communications Coordinator to help gather and [SJ1] share the stories of hope, dignity, and personal encounter at the heart of our work.This role supports our mission by bringing to life the impact of serving our neighbors in need and inviting the broader community to participate—as donors, volunteers, and advocates—in this charitable work.More than a marketing role, this position is an opportunity to help communicate the Gospel through action, highlighting the transformative power of compassion and accompaniment.This is a part-time position with the potential to grow as our outreach and development efforts expand.ResponsibilitiesSocial Media Engagement & Community Building (Primary Focus)Manage and grow St. Vincent de Paul Dayton’s social media presenceMonitor messages and comments, responding in a timely and mission-aligned mannerFoster and build relationships with supporters, volunteers, and partnersIdentify opportunities to highlight moments of service, gratitude, and impactEvent Promotion & Content CapturePromote key events, campaigns, and seasonal initiatives (e.g., Christmas outreach, giving campaigns)Attend select events to capture photos, stories, and testimonialsFoster relationships with staff and volunteers to increase participation and visibilityDigital Communications SupportAssist with email newsletters, appeals, and campaign messagingHelp maintain and update website contentSupport integration of messaging across platforms to ensure consistencyMission StorytellingCreate compelling written, visual, and video content for digital platformsCapture and share stories that reflect the dignity of those we serve and the impact of our programsInterview staff, volunteers, Vincentians, and neighbors served to gather authentic narrativesEnsure all messaging reflects the values of respect, compassion, and hope central to St. Vincent de PaulDesired Qualifications1+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or related fieldStrong writing and storytelling abilityFamiliarity with social media platforms and basic analyticsAbility to engage sensitive topics with discretion, respect, and dignityOrganized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projectsPassion for serving others and alignment with the mission of St. Vincent de PaulPreferred QualificationsExperience in nonprofit or ministry communicationsBasic graphic design and/or video editing skillsFamiliarity with email marketing tools (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.)What Makes This Role UniqueLive the mission daily: Help tell stories of real impact in the lives of neighbors in needBe part of a community of service: Work alongside Vincentians and staff dedicated to charity and dignityGrow with the organization: Opportunity to expand responsibilities over timeMeaningful work environment rooted in compassion, respect, and serviceCompensation & BenefitsPaid trainingAccess to a world-class mentorCompetitive hourly wage (based on experience)Retirement plan participationHealth Savings Account (HSA) with partial employer contributionFlexible, part-time scheduleAccess to on-site chapelAboutSt. Vincent de Paul Society, Dayton District Council is a faith-based nonprofit that has embraced the Dayton community in a network of charity for over 75 years.
