About the Position

Job Title: OR Surgical Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: OR Tech / Surgical Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours (07:00 - 17:30) Experience: 2 years of Surgical Tech experience required License: BLS required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Candidates must be comfortable with orthopedic cases. Teaching hospital and community hospital experience required. General surgery, endoscopic procedures, and orthopedic experience required. Description: Shift: 4X10; 0700 - 1730; Monday to Friday. Holiday and weekend call required (5-6 shifts per month). No overnight or weekend shifts (call only). 6 operating rooms with 15-20 cases per day. It is expected that all staff members help with precepting and orienting new staff and travelers. Experience in labor and delivery, gynecology, plastics, podiatry, robotics, and urology is preferred. Scheduling is self-schedule sign up and balanced by the OR lead; call is self-sign up. Floating may be required if cases are moved. Scrubs will be provided by the facility. The hospital is a 718 acute-care bed facility providing care to complex patients with a team of over 1,000 physicians in major specialties. Travelers will be responsible for working with their agency to discuss pay and any questions during their assignment. Travelers are not paid the same as core staff; call-back rates apply only if a traveler is called back after their shift has ended. Must be more than 100 miles from the facility. Charting experience with EPIC is required. No requests for time off are allowed during the first week of orientation. The facility is 100% nicotine-free.
