About the Position

Job Title: Surgical Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: OR Tech / Surgical Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 2 years of Surgical Tech experience required License: BLS required Certifications: None specified Must-Have: Candidates must be comfortable with orthopedic cases. Community hospital experience required. Teaching hospital experience required. Travel experience required. Description: This position requires a focus on orthopedic cases. The shift is 4x10 from 07:00 to 17:30, Monday through Friday. Holiday and weekend call is required (5-6 shifts per month). There are no overnight or weekend shifts, except for call. The unit operates 6 rooms with 15-20 cases per day. It is expected that all travelers help with precepting and orienting new staff and travelers. Experience in general surgery, endoscopic procedures, and orthopedics is required. Preferred experience includes labor & delivery, gynecology, plastics, podiatry, robotics, and urology. Scheduling is self-scheduled and balanced by the OR lead. Call is also self-sign-up, with potential for floating. Scrubs are provided by the facility. Candidates must live more than 100 miles from the facility. Call-back rates apply only if called back while offsite after a shift has ended. Travelers are not paid the same as core staff members. Questions regarding pay should be addressed through the appropriate agency. All contracts end on Sunday, with a work week from Monday to Sunday. Charting experience with the specified system is required. No RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation. The facility is 100% nicotine-free.
