Job Description Job Description Description: General Responsibilities Responsible for performing various duties to support the credit analysis function; achieving goals as established in the assigned department's annual operating plan; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; complying with operating policies and procedures established for the credit analysis function; communicating with appropriate personnel; responding to inquiries or requests for information; providing guidance and on-the job training to Credit Analyst I(s); maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports; performing all duties of a Credit Analyst I, as required. Essential Duties Performs various duties to support the credit analysis function of which the following are illustrative: Receives data on prospective and active borrowing accounts, i.e., financial statements, agency reports, and interview and investigation sheets. Spreads financial statements to facilitate analysis and preparation of credit analyses and/or credit approval memorandums or reviews. Accepts, reviews and analyzes loan applications. Conducts appropriate credit investigations. Prepares detailed credit analyses; analyzes data and evaluates the short- and long-run prospects of the individual or company. May make recommendations to appropriate personnel on the granting or denying of loans; prepares sufficient information to document recommendations. If assigned to the loan review function, assigns a loan grade after conducting a thorough credit analysis and documentation review Provides thorough documentation of all financial analysis work, including ratios and other related information. Provides collateral analysis using financial statements, appraisals, etc. to calculate loan to value ratios, etc. Maintains credit file information. Ensures that all credit analysis activities are conducted in accordance with prescribed lending policy. Monitors and adjusts the Bank’s loan risk rating system. Assists loan staff with commercial loan packages, underwriting, and origination. Prepares various monthly and/or quarterly loan reports as directed Acts as contact with external loan review; provides individual loan information, loan reports, and responses to all inquiries. Monitors the Bank’s appraisal review function to ensure compliance with FIRREA requirements and USPAP guidelines. Achieves goals assigned to the Credit Analyst II as part of the assigned department's annual operating plan. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information. Complies with established operating policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate controls and to support the Bank's adherence to outside regulatory requirements. Communicates with management and staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities. Reports Credit Facilities to the Board of Directors or appropriate Loan Committees. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from other Bank personnel, customers, etc., within given time frames and within established policy. Provides leadership, on-the-job training, and technical guidance to Credit Analyst I(s). Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports. Performs all duties of a Credit Analyst I, as required. Ancillary Duties Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances. Indiana, PA 15701 Various outside locations Equipment/Machines Automobile Telephone PC/Computer keyboard Printer Fax machine Copy machine Calculator Requirements: Basic Qualifications Education/Training: A B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field of study preferred; specialized financial analysis training. Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; thorough knowledge of current lending and loan review regulations and banking regulations, procedures, and operations; proficient ability to analyze and interpret financial statements; moderate PC skills; technical supervisory skills sufficient to provide guidance and training to Credit Analyst I(s); visual and auditory skills; valid driver’s license. Experience: A minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Credit Analyst normally required. In addition to the preferred experience requirements, promotion from a Credit Analyst I to a Credit Analyst II is contingent upon the incumbent's ability to effectively perform multiple tasks, duties, and jobs throughout the division or department
