Part-time Tutor (Centre for English Language Communication) The Centre for English Language Communication (CELC) enhances the English language competencies and academic skills of undergraduate and postgraduate students at the National University of Singapore. Courses offered by CELC foster skills such as critical thinking, academic writing, professional communication and other academic literacy skills. Part‑time tutors play an instrumental role in helping CELC achieve its objectives. Job Description As a Part‑time Tutor, you will assist in teaching CELC courses, facilitating learning activities, and supporting students in developing academic and communication skills. Selection Criteria Master’s or doctoral degree in English language, linguistics, applied linguistics, rhetoric and composition, communication studies or a related field, OR master’s or doctoral in an academic field (humanities, social sciences, business, science, applied sciences) with evidence of expertise in teaching academic writing or professional communication skills. Experience in teaching in higher education is viewed favorably. Evidence of research, written output (e.g., publications) or industrial experience in professional or business communication is viewed favorably. The NUS academic year consists of two semesters, first Aug–Nov and second Jan–Apr.
